Yard Waste FAQ

When does yard waste pickup start and end?

Yard waste pickup starts the first of April and continues through the end of November.

What can I put in my yard waste container?

Yard waste pickup is for grass clippings and leaves only. Brush, twigs, tree limbs and garden waste should be put with your regular trash pickup.

What if I can't fit all my yard waste in one Tote?

You can obtain a second tote for an additional fee, or you can put the extra in paper, biodegradable yard waste bags. Click here to order a tote.

What if I only have yard waste occasionally and don’t want to start yard waste service? How can I get rid of it?

You can purchase biodegradable yard waste bags from us, and we’ll pick them up when we run our yard waste route near your home. You may also haul the yard waste to the Grand Island Transfer Station for free disposal.

Dumpster Scheduling, Delivery & Pickup

How far in advance do I need to order a roll off dumpster?

It’s best to call us a couple days ahead of when you will be needing the dumpster. In our busy season (April-September), please give us a week’s notice before needing the dumpster. If calling for container on a Friday, the soonest we can schedule it is Monday.

Where on my property can the roll off dumpster be placed?

The roll off dumpster may be placed on your driveway, however we will not be liable for any damages to the driveway. It may also be placed in the street as long as it does not impede traffic. Placing the containers in a yard or an alley are not advisable due to limited space and possible damage to the property.

Can you deliver the roll off dumpster at a specific time?

We will always do our best to have the container delivered when it is needed. We will deliver the container on the day requested, however we cannot guarantee delivery times due to issues that happen throughout the day that are beyond our control.

How long can we keep the roll off dumpster?

You may keep the dumpster as long as needed. But, there is an additional $90 rental fee when the roll off dumpster has not been emptied within 30 days of delivering it. When calling, let us know if you want a “dump and return” or a “dump and remove.”

How does Mid-Nebraska Disposal know when to pick up the roll off dumpster?

Customers may request an automatic pickup day or they may wait to call us when they are finished. When calling, let us know if you want a “dump and return” or a “dump and remove.”

What hours are you open?

You can call or visit our offices Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to Noon and from 1:00pm to 4:30 pm. Our phone number is 308-382-7053.

Dumpster Fees & Payment

Do we pay for the dumpster when it’s dropped off or after it’s picked up?

For new customers, we require payment up-front for the delivery and the first dump of the container. Any additional charges will be billed monthly.  If you are a current customer with no prior past due payment issues, you are not required to pay up-front and will be billed monthly.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, check, money orders, debit and credit cards. Debit and credit card payments can be paid online at haulmytrash.com.

What do roll off dumpster rental prices include?

The dumpster costs include an initial delivery fee, one pull fee (when the dumpster needs to be emptied) and a landfill fee (based on the weight of the material in the dumpster).  There is also a service rental fee if the container is not dumped within 30 days of being delivered.  There may be additional fees if unacceptable material is put into the container or if the container is overweight.

Dumpster Usage

Can we fill the roll off dumpster higher than the sides?

No, you cannot have the material higher than the sides of the dumpster. We must tarp the dumpster when picking it up to ensure nothing falls out during transport.

Do you accept concrete or dirt in the roll off dumpster?

Yes, we do accept concrete and dirt. However, depending on the size of the roll off dumpster, you may only be able to fill it half-full if disposing of concrete or dirt. Call us to discuss your needs.

When filling dumpster, are there UNACCEPTABLE items?

The following items are NOT ACCEPTED in roll off dumpsters:

  • Car batteries
  • Lithium/power tool batteries
  • Flat screen TVs
  • Oil
  • Wet paint
  • Tires
  • White goods (Refrigerators, Freezers, Water Heaters, Dishwashers, Clothes Washers, Dryers, Stoves)

What if my neighbors throw items in my roll off dumpster?

It is the customer's responsibility to keep an eye on the dumpster to prevent third parties dumping into it. If you see it happening, you should contact the police to report theft of services.
