Our Story

Photo of men in conferenceMid-Nebraska Disposal is a family-owned and operated business with headquarters in Grand Island. The business began in the early 1970s, and Arlo Woodward and his sons, Les and Marv, bought it in 1976. Les and his wife, Teresa, ran the business until the early 1990s, when Les’ sons, Scott and Chris, came aboard to lend a hand in day-to-day operations.

The success of Mid-Nebraska Disposal can be attributed to many things, most importantly a dedication to customer service and innovation. Our commitment to service has resulted in a growing business with strong customer loyalty, but we never forget that great customer service can’t happen without well-trained employees. Our team members are constantly trained on safe driving skills, on-the-job safety and customer service.

When it comes to innovation, our history tells the story. We were the first company of our kind to offer many products and services. Just a few of these innovations include offering wheeled totes and curbside recycling to our residential customers, and cardboard and office paper recycling to businesses. We offer the convenience of online signup and bill paying and we do our best to appreciate and recognize both employees and customers.

Our customers know they can always count on us for the most current services available in our industry.
